Dear Hutchinson Families, Prospective Families, and Community Members,
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year. I am excited to begin my 6th year serving the Hutchinson Communty as your Principal and am so excited to begin the year as we have so much to look forward to.
This year we are excited to announce that we have become a Leader In Me school. Leader In Me is a comprehensive PreK-12 framework that nurtures student leadership, fosters trust, and boosts academic success. This proven approach empowers students, staff and families with essential leadership and life skills preparing them to excel. We are excited to begin our journey with this program. We begin our training as staff comes back from their summer break on August 8th.
We will also continue to utilize Into Reading and Illustrative Math as our two main resources for teaching the standards in Literacy and Math. As a staff, we will continue to dive deep into planning for instruction using both resources.
We are very fortunate as a school to be supported by an amazing community.

There are many ways to get involved at Hutchinson Elementary:
PIE (Partners in Education) - Families, Staff and community members work together to provide input in decision making here at Hutchinson. We discuss assessment data, educational programming, budget, school initiatives and community partnerships.
PTO – Supports with school fundraising efforts and provides our students, staff, and families with valuable resources and community events to help students succeed. You can find more information on their website at http://hutchinsonpto.org/.
Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) – Father figures, come spend a day at Hutchinson walking the halls, joining us at recess, and supporting with school safety and education. Eat lunch with your kiddos and spend some time in their classroom. We are hopeful that JCPH guidelines allow for visitors and that we can begin this wonderful program again this year.
Volunteer - Please reach out to your child's teacher for times and days you can volunteer in the classroom. We are excited to welcome back our parent volunteers!!
At Home - Talk to your child’s teacher about ways to support your student from home.
